It is estimated that 22 million people are now living
under the restrictions of Tier 3 in England that have been
imposed in an effort to reduce the devastating effects of
the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Whilst lives are being lost and the health and
livelihoods of others are being affected so severely, and we
are not allowed to visit our families or enjoy a normal
Christmas; it appears ludicrous that the Football
Association believes the risks involved in allowing
thousands of Grassroots Footballers and Volunteers to cross
in and out of Tier 3 Areas are worth it for a game of
football.
If your Club, your players and volunteers have a contrary
view and DO NOT want to put yourselves and others at risk,
then you may opt out of ALL fixtures until Sunday 10 January
2020 if you have not already done so.
It appears that the FA does not, but we realise that
being placed within a Tier 3 Area has caused the closure of
many Training Facilities and football pitches within our
Region which is a further reason to extend the offer of
fixture postponements. If you wish to apply for (and you
haven’t done so already) please email the League Fixtures
Secretary and copy to the League Secretary by 1800 hours on
Sunday 6 December 2020. If the Fixtures Secretary does not
hear from you by then it will be assumed that you want to be
allocated fixtures on 13 & 20 December 2020 and Sunday 3
January 2021.
The COVID Tiers in England will be reviewed on Wednesday
16 December 2020.
Stay safe and well.
